Transform Your Yard: Sink Carbon in the Soil! – Tiny Diner

The Tiny Diner hosts various events, workshops and classes at our restaurant. These classes seek to introduce and extend our understanding about food, water, energy, health, and permaculture design techniques for our homes, businesses, and communities. Some of the topics include storm water management, rain gardening, straw bale gardening, basic botany, composting and vermiculture, beekeeping, mushroom production, and more. The classes will be free or low-cost. Please stay connected to our class calendar and make sure to sign-up for them as they become available.

Location: All events and classes will be held at Tiny Diner restaurant (1024 E. 38th Street, S. Minneapolis) unless noted otherwise.

Some classes may require an RSVP and will state if you need to sign-up. If you don't RSVP, the class may be cancelled. Write to, with the class title in the subject heading.

Did you know that your lawn might be a key to removing excess carbon in the atmosphere? Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today who’s cause is an excess of carbon in the atmosphere. So let’s put that carbon back where it came from-in the soil! This class will talk through the nuts and bolts of soil carbon sequestration and teach anyone how to restore soil and fight climate change by sinking carbon!

Instructor Information: Kassie Brown is the lead educator at Renaissance Soil, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming dirt back into living soil by teaching humans how to partner with the ancient systems that grow resilient plants, hold water, clean up pollution, and store carbon.
