The Art of Mothering: Tiny Art with YO MAMA
May 8 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
For this class, we invite mothers to come together and find community through art making. Participants will create two pieces of “TINY ART” with using small “thingamajigs and whatchamacallits”, collage and water colors. This women’s only pop-up arts space invites mothers to take time for themselves. Together we share mother wit, wisdom and know how from our collective cultural backgrounds. Seated in our stories we find courage for self expression and empowerment through art making while building connectivity.
This class is $25 which includes all supplies to make 2 pieces of art. Sliding scale options also available! Please email email@example.com with questions or to RSVP. RSVPs strongly encouraged!
Instructor Information: Amoke Kubat is the founder of YO MAMA’s, a housing cooperative for mothers. Her philosophy and practice is to empower mothers by disrupting the devaluation of women’s visible and invisible labor and increasing the social and political recognition of the ART of Mothering through ART MAKING. Check out www.yomamashouse.com for more information about Amoke Kubat or YO MAMA.
