Straw Bale Gardening 101
May 25, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In this class we will cover all the basics of what you need to know about how to grow flowers, herbs and vegetables in straw bales! Straw bales are an easy way to expand your garden space, require very minimal weeding and are 100% compostable! In this introductory class you’ll learn how to prepare your bales for planting, fertilize, plant and much more!
This class is $10 but sliding scale options are available! Please send an email to email@example.com with questions or to reserve your space. RSVPs strongly encouraged!
Instructor Information: Trianna Houser has always enjoyed experimenting with different urban farming techniques and has been growing in straw bales for the last 3 years in the yard of her Powderhorn home. She received an Urban Farming Certificate from Permaculture Research Institute Cold Climate. For this class, Trianna will be assisted by her daughter Terran who loves digging in the dirt as much as she does!
